Is It Only Male Urine That You Use For Composting?

I was told male urine was a good catalyst for speeding up the rate of breakdown in compost. My partner got into a routine of walking for his night time cigarette down to the compost heep and urinating in the compost. I was amazed as the compost became soil in a quarter of the time. I was told only male urine should be used. Is that correct?

and put it directly into a compost bin? I once saw a house where the compost was put directly into a shute which went directly into the backyard compost bin. I find garbarge disposals an easy way to get rid of waste and keep the sink from getting clogged up. It would be nice if there was a combo system. Anyone know of one?

Too much high nitrogen material will “spoil” and cause the sourness. Add some more carbon (browns) such as dead leaves, dry grass and weeds. Also, aerating the compost by turning it more often will help.

Can I Make A Compost Tumbler Out Of An Old Barrel That Held Windshield Wiper Fluid?

I’m attempting to make a cheap compost tumbler out of a free 55 gallon barrel that my brother-in-law is getting me from his mechanic’s shop. It held windshield wiper fluid. Will I be able to get all of the chemical residue out to make non-toxic compost for a vegetable garden?
